Rasha Ragab:  Nubian Egyptian- German artist.

Born in Cairo- Egypt, living and working in Munich- Germany

1989 – 1996 Law studies

1997 – 1998 Further education in languages and media

2003 – 2005 Studies of art criticism at the Academy of Fine Arts. Cairo, Egypt. Parallel to the work in the museum.

1998 – 2014 Director and Chief Curator of various galleries at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo and member of the committee of the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo, Egypt. Realization of more than 30 exhibitions and 15 teaching and discussion events, as well as several publications of small art catalogs. Besides curator for other.

Exhibitions and private galleries in Egypt, USA and Mongolia.

Participation in the construction of a rehabilitation and art therapy ward for victims of the revolution in 2011 and art therapy in a hospital for children with children with cancer in Cairo.

 Since 2014 co-curator at Kunst im Bau, Klang im Dach and video art at fsff in Munich

Work as an artist

Self-taught as a painter under Ahmed Fouad Selim.

Performance and video art, photography and installations since 2007.

Exhibitions since 2003 in Egypt.

Since 2012 collaboration with Christoph Nicolaus as a pair of artists under the name toffaha.

toffaha (arabic: apple) is the artist couple Rasha Ragab and Christoph Nicolaus.

 

Since 2012 also sound art in various ensembles.
